This movie attempted to do the impossible: finishing the skywalker trilogy. And I've got to say, they did a really good job.

This Star Wars film incorporated both old and new characters which we've grown to love, to create this shared experience of the love for Star Wars with not only the us as the audience but as well as the cast.

The storyline was interesting and was definitely filled to the brim with plot twists and surprises (a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Lots of lightsaber battles. I mean like what loads. Maybe a little too much? I felt like they just put a few in there because they can (still progressed the plot line) still really enjoyed them, because I mean come on, lightsaber battles.

The use of the magnificent John Williams recaptured key and beloved memories from earlier films through the masterpiece which is his music. My only problem was there were one or two key scenes which lacked his work. Personally I believe the absence of this didn't allow these scenes to reach their full potential. Still were really well done though.

I felt like there were a few scenes which had me wondering what was even happening, maybe due to the scene being a little bit dark which made the characters blend into the background, but this can be easily resolved by rewatching it. Which I will.

None-the-less, an absolutely astounding and wonderful end to the entire skywalker saga, tying up loose ends and unanswered questions but also leaving us with the beauty of new questions which makes us feel this story is truly never over.

To sum it all up? Amazing, heartwarming, a beautiful conclusion, a real pick up from the last Jedi and 100% has rewatch value (many, many times.

The Rise of Skywalker follows on from The Last Jedi, a film which left many disappointed. When following on from a disappointed film, mending the mistakes is often what drags the film down. The final entry in the Skywalker saga feels like its own spin off story including the main characters. As said in the headline, there is way too many things happening within this film, therefore feels very rushed and crammed.
The Star Wars universe is one of the most fun environments to see on screen, so that does not disappoint and it was fun to see all the different types of terrain on all the different planets that are visited throughout the film.
